Promoting mental health care by producing quality professionals
Mental health technicians (MHTs) play a pivotal role in mental healthcare treatments and care plans for patients. Also known as psychiatric technicians, you can work with these professionals if you have issues with addiction, disabilities, and other concerns. At Sunlight Healthcare Academy, our trainers will prepare aspiring MHTs to provide patient care in outpatient mental health settings or long-term care facilities. With this, we develop essential skills, including but not limited to:
- Implement Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs
- Administer medications
- Facilitate group or individual therapy sessions
- Facilitate psycho-educational group sessions
- Monitor behavior patterns among patients
- Check patient vital signs
- Provide one-on-one talks with patients
