Home Health Aide

In modern healthcare settings, home health care plays an essential role in promoting overall wellness for patients at home. This healthcare approach focuses on improving a person’s quality of life and promotes independence at home, especially for the elderly and persons with disabilities. An ideal home health aide should be able to work with limited to no supervision and with compassion.

At Sunlight Healthcare Academy, we will train you to become an effective home health aide. We will prepare you for your role in providing direct care at the patients’ homes. As such, our training course includes developing these skills:

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Promote personal hygiene
• Conduct light housekeeping responsibilities
• Administer prescribed medications
• Observe patient health and report any changes to nurses or doctors
• Arrange transportation (accompany patients if needed)
• Prepare doctor-approved meals
• Do grocery shopping as needed
